  • 1981, the Clifford family purchased the property and from the beginning envisioned ongoing protection for the property.
  • 1998, the kids (Barrie, Tania & Chad) opened Alba Wilderness School with Jean cooking & Howard begins providing his famous reenactments of historical environmental figures during courses.
  • 2009, both the property (to be called cliffLAND) and its Blueberry Mountain were voted as #1 and #2 spots of the Seven Wonders of Lanark County. Blueberry Mtn was chosen.
  • 2009, a conservation easement with the Mississippi Madawaska Land Trust (MMLT) was registered on title for the entire property.
  • 2009, Environment Canada declared the property to be a significant ecologically sensitive area.
  • 2010, Chad Clifford continues teaching outdoor skills  (Wilderness Rhythms after Alba Wilderness School) and later just under his own name.
