Now here is a world of endless discovery. Literally. New species seem to pop up with regularity. On a spring walk, take notice of the white rocks in a moving stream. The black bodies of juvenile black flies may be clinging there. Be patient and juvenile dragonflies, in their stealthy underwater armour, will hunt among them before following them into the air after an impressive metamorphosis. ‘Still’ ponds have the juvenile stages of mosquitoes to view. That is just where I would start. What a world of wonder! too often beneath our notice. -Chad
